“Jennifer Brown Fitness Trainer[/caption] “My name is Jen Bowers and I am a Personal Trainer with American Family in Mechanicsville. This is my story and If it inspires or motivates just one person it is worth telling. Eleven years ago I left the hospital after having my daughter weighing in at over 190lbs. My pre-pregnancy weight was 125lbs so this was a significant weight gain for my 5’4″ frame. I had this new beautiful little girl that was certainly worth every pound but I was miserable. I didn’t want to buy clothes because I knew I could not live a happy life feeling so overwhelmed at a weight I had never been at. I had always been thin and never considered going to a gym. However, that’s exactly what I knew I needed to do. I joined a small one in my home town because my husband was deployed and I went to stay with my family for a while. I felt out of place and embarrassed. Im sure these are common feelings when you first join a gym. There was a lady that showed me around so I felt a little bit more at ease. I began going every day, sometimes twice a day. I was lifting weights, doing cardio and I found some magazines on healthy eating and I changed my diet! I was seei ng results! It was working! I went from 190 to 114 in 8 months. I was so proud of myself that I can’t even put it into words!
I’ve heard this so many times “I put my kids first so I never lost the baby weight. ” I don’t mince words when it comes to health and fitness. My kids did not suffer because I spent an hour a day at the gym. They didn’t suffer because they were now eating healthy meals. They never once suffered because their mom was happy with herself so she now could be an even better mother. Fitness is my life! Its my passion. I love helping my clients achieve their fitness goals. I love to inspire others to make the change to live a healthier style. I challenge anyone reading this to take the first step. It won’t be easy but I promise it WILL be worth it! Thank you for reading!”
